The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Started in 2008. The department is equipped with all the necessary equipment required for the smooth running. There are adequate numbers of teaching staff, who are expert in their fields. Students are eager to come and learn in the department as surgery is an immense and vast subject, and staff here is always ready to teach and help. There are adequate number of dental chairs in the department, and a very good number of patients coming for the treatment.
All the modern treatment methods are practised in the department, so that the students learn and perform different surgeries on the patients and are ready for their future.
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a stream of Dentistry that deals with all the surgical procedures that is carried out not only inside the mouth but also involves different surgical procedures on head & neck region.
Oral surgery can be broadly divided into minor surgical procedures & major surgical procedures. Minor procedures include extraction of teeth, removal of wisdom tooth, draining of pus, correction of alveolar ridge, removal of small cysts, dental implant placement, closed reduction of jaw fractures etc. Major procedures are carried out in operation theatres under general anaesthesia, which include open reduction of fractures of facial bones, large cyst and tumour removal, surgery to correct reduced mouth opening, correcting facial asymmetry and improving facial aesthetics to name a few of them.
Our department is fully equipped with all the high end facilities that are required to perform all the surgical procedures.

Ever since its inception, maxillofacial surgery has been expanding not only into other arenas of dentistry, but also into the fraternity of medicine as well, imparting ever new dimensions to its image.
We train undergraduate pupils to imbibe and perform basic skills of clinical diagnosis and treatment and develop the ability to recognize and manage complications and medical emergencies.
